St. John's and Tyler Masonic lodges and a Tyler chapter of National Sojourners have collected $1,500 to purchase calling cards for U.S. troops serving in Iraq.
Masonic Services Association and the USO, will help distribute the cards, said information from Gregg Bonham, one of the project's participants.
"Tyler Masons are very appreciative of our troops and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to stay in contact with their families," John Cole, president of the local Sojourners chapter, said in a prepared statement.
